S.F. energy lawyers merge with Portland firm.(Brief Article)

Washburn, Briscoe & McCarthy P.C., a boutique San Francisco law firm focusing on energy and environmental transactions, will merge Oct. 1 with a larger Portland-based firm.

Terms of the deal, negotiated over the past year, were not disclosed.

Stoel Rives LLP will relocate attorneys from "key practice areas" to San Francisco during a transition period, and a senior-level Stoel Rives energy partner will base his practice in the Bay Area, said Washburn's managing shareholder, Sandi Nichols.
