Offspring of DDI to be unit of N.Y.-based operation

MOUNT LEBANON -- Development Dimensions International is close to selling Advantage Hiring Inc., an Internet-based subsidiary specializing in online recruiting.

Lawyers this week were putting the finishing touches on an agreement for DDI to sell Advantage to Momentum Employment Ventures of New York. Momentum was formed recently to buy and merge six firms into a new entity focused on Web-based hiring and recruiting. Advantage Hiring is the first of the six companies being purchased by Momentum.

Momentum is chaired by Candace Carpenter, an Internet entrepreneur who founded iVillage.com, a Web site devoted to women's issues.
