Oz: OOCL opts to open office, owing to exports

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA--Increased trade between Australia and the Far East has led to a decision by Hong Kong's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) to establish its own office in Australia. A new company, wholly owned by the OOCL group, OOCL (Australia) PTY Ltd., has been formed to be open for business from July 1, headquartered in Sydney.

OOCL has operated direct container shipping services between Australia and the Far East since 1972 and at present offers sailings every eight days. Scheduled sailings were to be improved to weekly by June. The services connect Australia to the Far East and link with OOCL services …
