Valley pediatric market in midst of growth spurt
Despite data that shows the Valley's pediatric care market is in danger of having too many beds, Valley hospitals are continuing their expansion.
Phoenix Children's Hospital plans to open a $100 million hospital with about 300 beds in April, while St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center just expanded its pediatric intensive care unit to bring the total number of children's beds to about 130. Meanwhile, Maricopa Medical Center is gearing up to staff for 50 beds this winter.
