Samajwadi Party MLAs in UP resign.

STATESMAN NEWS SERVICE LUCKNOW, Sept. 11. The Samajwadi Party today asked its MLAs to resign from the Assembly to force early polls in Uttar Pradesh. Just two days ago, Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav had said that the party had no such plans.

After a meeting of the legislature party this morning in which Mr Yadav and the general secretary, Mr Amar Singh, were present, the MLAs (over 80) marched to the Assembly and submitted their letters of resignation to the secretary, Mr RP Pandey. The Speaker, Mr Kesari Nath Tripathi, is abroad.
