Bruce Carlin has spent the last 18 months crossing the United States, meeting with virtually everyone who wanted to "have a say" about a fledgling financial services firm he's starting, a firm bankrolled by a nationwide alliance of certified public accounting firms.
The enterprise, known as Advisor's Edge, is just getting started. In fact, Carlin said the business is pretty much wherever he is.
"I brought the idea up and they said, 'That's pretty interesting, make it happen,'" said Carlin, who is managing partner of Worcester-based Carlin, Charron & Rosen LLP, the largest CPA firm in the state.
That was more than a year ago. "Right now, we're just about to get out of the gate."
