Those who have tried shopping for new office furniture lately are likely to find themselves with information overload.
Eyes bulging, brain swimming, they hear "bringing technology to the workplace" ... "technology at the beltline" ... "made for the demands of today's technology," as they are paraded through showroom after showroom of the latest cube farms on wheels, showing the same chairs, same "office neutral" fabrics and carpets and boring window treatments.
If technology is so great, how come all this stuff looks pretty much the same?
Isn't anybody making anything really new, really innovative, a kind of knock-your-socks-off product that captures the latest technology and builds a better mousetrap? A better mousetrap that also addresses design? How about a New Millennium mousetrap that combines technology, science and great design? …
