Cherokee Group sees quarter profit doubling

SUNLAND, Calif. (FNS) -- The Cherokee Group, parent of Cherokee Shoe, last week said it expects operating earinings to more than double -- moving ahead by 134.8 percent -- on a 12.5 percent increase in sales when it reports its fourth-quarter results.

Separately, The Cherokee Group reported it has signed two licensing agreements, one for socks, the other for dresses.

Company executives did not indicate when they would release fourth-quarter and year-end figures.

Cherokee executives predicted earnings of at least $7.75 million before interest and taxes for the quarter ended May 27, up from $3.3 …
