Waukesha-based GE Medical Systems will buy the maker of a portable, handheld device that allows doctors to access patient information, such as vital signs. In another transaction, GE Medical is buying part of foreign ultrasound equipment manufacturer.
The transactions are scheduled to be completed by fall.
On July 19, the company's Milwaukee based GE Medical Systems Information Technologies division, formerly GE Marquette Medical Systems, agreed to acquire Data Critical Corp., Bothell, Wash., a provider of wireless communication technologies for health care customers.
