An exhibit on gay pride ordered removed by Anchorage, Alaska, Mayor George Wuerch was restored by library staff at the Z. J. Loussac Public Library July 11, one day before the deadline imposed by a preliminary injunction requiring its reinstallation. U.S. District Judge James K. Singleton ordered the exhibit back July 9, but specified that the portion that involved decorating the library elevators to make them look like closets could be reassembled elsewhere.
"Celebrating Diversity under the Midnight Sun" will remain at the library for 30 days, according to Library Director Timothy P. Lynch.
