Dear Readers,

It is with mixed feelings that we at the Review bid farewell to the print version of our publication. Started in 1932 as the Arkansas Business Bulletin, the Review remained unchanged for 36 years. Then in 1968, the name was changed to the Arkansas Business and Economic Review. Literally hundreds of authors and thousands of readers later, the Review underwent its most dramatic change when the content was revised in 1998. The shift from a peer reviewed scholarly journal with articles submitted from the academic community to a business magazine reflecting the outreach mission of the Walton College of Business is the most dramatic change to date. We hope the coming change to an e-publication will be less dramatic, but perhaps more important. It has always been our desire to inform as many Arkansans as possible of the workings of the state economy. Unfortunately, due to rising production costs, producing the Review as a physical publication had become impossible. Despite our efforts, simple financial necessity dictated a change.
