Crossfire gets its shot
Chrysler's boat-tail Crossfire that debuted as a concept car at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January (AW, Jan. 22) will become a production car, according to Wolfgang Bernhard, chief operating officer for the Chrysler Group.
Bernhard and Jim Schroer, executive vice president of global sales and marketing, made the announcement near the 18th green at Pebble Beach during the annual Concours d'Elegance. Bernhard noted that all technical and feasibility issues are solved and a solid business plan is in place to build the vehicle. Bernhard promised more details at the Los Angeles auto show in January.
Forty Nine right behind?
Without coming right out and making an announcement, Ford execs at Pebble Beach hinted about as strongly as they could hint that production of a car based on the shaved-look retro Forty Nine concept (AW, Jan. 22) would be confirmed at the SEMA show this fall.
