Central-Office ACD Offered by New York Telephone The heart of any inbound telemarketing operation is a device called an automatic call distributor (ACD). The ACD does what its name implies: it routes incoming calls to available sales reps or reservations agents, automatically monitoring which agents are available to take the next call.

ACDs are large and costly, and New York Telephone recently introduced an ACD service based in its switching offices that provides full ACD capabilities without the need to invest in the equipment, maintain it, and provide space for it.
