Even as larger technology consulting companies falter, N3 has navigated the tech wreck by staying focused and learning how to control growth

Doug Winnie realized he had a career in technology when he found himself teaching his high-school teachers about computers.

Winnie, a self-proclaimed efficiency freak says the methodical and logical steps involved in the technology industry caught his interest in the profession.

Winnie founded N3 Consulting in 1995 with one client and has since added 56 employees to his company. N3 has seen an average of 50 percent revenue growth each year.

The company expects to pull in $5 million in revenue this year. In 2000, N3 brought in $2.6 million in revenue, compared to $1.6 million in 1999.

N3 provides consulting, application development, advanced system administration, software training and product support services to clients such as American General Corp. and Igloo.

Headquartered in Houston, the company has three offices nationwide and has evolved from a consulting firm built around Lotus …
