2001 AUG 9 - (NewsRx Network) -- New research in an animal model indicates that vitamin E can be a safer and much less expensive treatment for bone loss than estrogen.
Dr. Sunil Wimalawansa presented the data at a meeting of the Endocrine Society, held in Denver, Colorado. Wimalawansa is the chief of endocrinology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Jersey, and he reported on a study examining the effects of vitamin E on bone loss caused by a deficiency of estrogen.
