2001 AUG 9 - (NewsRx Network) -- New breast imaging technologies will drive growth in the U.S. mammography market over the next several years, resulting in product sales of nearly U.S. $340 million by 2005, according to an article published in the June/July 2001 issue of the medical industry newsletter, Medical Insight.
The article provides an update on recent developments in computer-aided detection (CAD) and digital mammography, as well as emerging technologies, such thermal mapping and optical imaging, which can help determine whether a lesion is benign or malignant prior to biopsy.
