Antex Biologics, Inc. (ANX) announced that immunization with its new, proprietary Chlamydia trachomatis vaccine demonstrated protection against infertility in animals.
In preclinical studies, mice challenged with live C. trachomatis bacteria were immunized with the vaccine. In a significant number of mice, the infection cleared and they were protected against infertility. Ninety percent of those not immunized became infertile.
