Officials, players lambast umpires.

THE umpiring in the Azlan Shah Cup tournament so far has not been smooth with at least three teams disputing the way some of the officials handled the matches.

National coach Paul Lissek had lashed out at the contrasting interpretation of stopping the ball by the umpires after Malaysia's match against Germany.

"In the World Cup qualifiers in Edinburgh, ball shielding was not a foul but here at the Azlan Shah Cup a week later, it is considered an offence," fumed Lissek.

"This is confusing the players and it makes me wonder if all the umpires are following the same rulebook."
