SIME TYRES EXPECTS TO RAISE MARKET SHARE.

SEPANG, Aug 10 (Bernama) -- Sime Tyres International (M) Sdn Bhd, a unit of conglomerate Sime Darby Bhd, expects to increase its market share with its new high performance passenger car tyre called Astar Premier, managing director Ahmad Zubir Murshid said here today.

"With the launch of the Astar Premier, we hope to increase (market share) further, especially in the high performance range," he told reporters after the official launch of the tyre.

However, he declined to say how much market share could be captured.

Currently, Sime Tyres' domestic market share is at 24 percent.
