Avia taps Dragon as president

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Avia Group International last week named William Dragon Jr., former president of Genesco Inc.'s footwear group, to succeed Dean Croft as president of Avia Group International, effective June 30.

Croft, whose contract with Avia's parent company Reebok International Ltd., Canton, Mass., was due to expire in spring '90, will work as a consultant to Avia until the end of 1989, at which time he plans to leave to pursue other business interests.

Dragon, who was also executive vice president of Genesco and a member of the board of directors, had worked at Genesco for eight years. Prior to that, he spent eight …
