City Councilor Michael Brasher likely will spend today looking at his legal options after missing a key deadline to get on the fall ballot.

The deadline for mayoral and council candidates to officially declare their intention to run was Tuesday.

City Clerk Margie Baca Archuleta said Brasher realized after the 5 p.m. deadline had passed that he hadn't completed the declaration of candidacy as required.

Brasher, who is completing his third term on the council, did not return phone calls seeking comment Tuesday.
