2001 JUL 26 - (NewsRx Network) -- Mutant mice lacking cyclin D1 are entirely resistant to breast tumors induced by the genes neu and ras, which are implicated in most human breast cancers.
The same mice are susceptible, however, to those tumors caused by the other oncogenes c-myc and Wnt-1, report Piotr Sicinsky and colleagues of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts, in the June 28, 2001, issue of Nature.
