Northwest Airlines moved into a brand-new cargo center and maintenance facility at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport earlier this month, just one of the series of moves allowing for airport expansion.

The new operation consists of two adjacent buildings: a 151,159-square-foot maintenance facility and a 56,488-square-foot cargo facility, said Northwest spokesman Scott Ingham. The hangar is large enough to simultaneously contain a Boeing 747 and a DC-10, and is built …
