The Japanese mobile invasion of Europe is being prepared inside an anonymous office building in the workaday city of Dusseldorf, Germany. There, a team of 50 Germans, Dutch and Japanese are readying DoCoMo's i-mode Internet phone service for its European launch. The plan is to start up in Germany, then Belgium and Austria, followed by France and southern Europe before DoCoMo attempts to bring the world's first working Internet phone service to the United States and Asia.
