DPM to officiate at World Cup opening.

DEPUTY Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawai will officially declare open the Track World Cup final round at Velodrome Rakyat in Ipoh on Aug 24 at 5pm.

Organising secretary Amarjit Singh Gill also confirmed yesterday that the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah, will present the World Cup trophy to the overall champions on Aug 26 at 3.30pm.

Kazakhstan and last year's fifth leg champions New Zealand are the latest countries to confirm participation in the three-day competition.

Amarjit said the other countries who confirmed earlier include overall defending champions France, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Australia, Finland, SOuth Africa, Greece, …
