NAGOYA -- Several post offices in Nagoya suspected of ordering workers to vote for a former postal administration chief are being investigated on suspicion of violating election laws, police said Monday.
Aichi Prefectural Police reportedly plan to search an unspecified number of offices in Nagoya following allegations that post office executives ordered their workers to vote for Kenji Koso, former chief of the Kinki Postal Administration office, in Sunday's House of Councillors election.
The Public Offices Election Law forbids any campaigning activity that involves government employees using their position to garner votes for a candidate.
