Buffaloes' pop keeps them in PL top spot.
The Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes continued to show their long ball prowess on Monday as they outslugged the Chiba Lotte Marines 6-5 at Osaka Dome.
The Pacific League-leading Buffaloes outhomered the Marines 3-2 and maintained their slender half-game lead over the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks with their second straight win.
Norihiro Nakamura gave the Buffaloes a three-run cushion with his 30th homer in the bottom of the first inning off Marines starter Brian Sikorski (0-1).
The Marines' Derrick May went 4-for-4 and hit a pair of home runs. His 22nd, a two-run shot gave his club a 4-3 lead in the top of the third.
