The Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes continued to show their long ball prowess on Monday as they outslugged the Chiba Lotte Marines 6-5 at Osaka Dome.

The Pacific League-leading Buffaloes outhomered the Marines 3-2 and maintained their slender half-game lead over the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks with their second straight win.

Norihiro Nakamura gave the Buffaloes a three-run cushion with his 30th homer in the bottom of the first inning off Marines starter Brian Sikorski (0-1).

The Marines' Derrick May went 4-for-4 and hit a pair of home runs. His 22nd, a two-run shot gave his club a 4-3 lead in the top of the third. The Marines appeared ready to tear the lid off the game in the top of the fourth but were foiled by an umpire's non-call and the pluck of reliever Koichi Misawa, …
