Following a breakdown in contract negotiations, the Massachusetts Trial Court has relegated New York City-based Deloitte Consulting to a lesser role in its plan to build a statewide records system available online.

Nearly five years into what was initially plotted as a "several-year" undertaking, the Trial Court is seeking a new technology company to finish the job of collecting court records on one database. The courts will seek bids next month, according to probate and Anthony Nesi, a family court judge, who is also the trial court's information technology project director. Nesi said the court hopes to select a new vendor by the end of the year.
