To protect health care workers who speak out in the interest of patient care, U.S. Reps. Mark Foley, R-Fla., and Max Sandlin, D-Texas, have reintroduced 1998 legislation that will enact key reforms affecting the health care industry.

The Foley-Sandlin bill, called the Patient Safety and Health Care Whistle Blower Protection Act, is designed to protect the health care worker who advocates for patients, or participates in investigations of a health care facility.
