At 22, Jennifer Rufer was told she was deathly ill. After chemotherapy and a hysterectomy, she discovered it had all been a horrible mistake.

* When I met David, I had just graduated from high school. Despite being only 18, I knew right away that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. We dated for three years and were married in a small ceremony in June 1997. Like many young couples, we mapped out our future, which included finishing school, buying a house, and eventually having kids.
