Pifco, the household appliance company, has appointed Manchester's Cheetham Bell JWT to handle creative work on its 5 million [pounds sterling] account with a brief to launch the George Foreman grill, produced by its Salton US parent, into the UK.
The grill, invented by and named after the former world heavyweight boxing champion, will spearhead Pifco's return to TV in the autumn. Media buying is being handled by MediaCom North.
The agency switch -- made without a formal pitch -- ends Pifco's three-year association with McCann-Erickson Manchester and extends JWT's relationship with Salton, whose account it handles in the US.
