As Pearl Harbor lands in theaters, Josh Hartnett's about to be launched into superstud status. Here, he shares his secret turn-ons, his love for costars, and the way he lets loose.
* Josh Hartnett drapes his 6-foot-3-inch Frame over a chair in a posh suite at a Beverly Hills hotel, lights up a cigarette, and eyes his interviewer wearily. "Forgive me for my lack of energy," he says in a deep voice. "I'm very tired."
No kidding. For the past few months leading up to the release of this summer's megamovie Pearl Harbor, Hartnett, 22, has been doing nonstop publicity. The buzz is that this flick will make him a big star...and not just the flavor-of-the-month kind. With a slew of near-hits under his belt and an ounce of fame already teasing his taste buds, Josh says humbly, "I've been lucky." The road to Hollywood began for Josh in community theater in Minneapolis, where he grew up, and continued with a short stop at the State University of New York at Purchase. Eight months after that, he headed to Tinseltown. In just one year, he was cast in films such as Halloween H20:20 Years Later, The Faculty, and The Virgin. Suicides, opposite Kirsten Dunst.
Now single after living with Polish actress Izabella Miko, Josh offers his uncensored opinions on the perils of his budding fame and what makes a woman sexy.
Your character in Pearl Harbor is involved in a juicy love triangle. Ever been in one yourself?
One of the first girls I had a crush on was my best friend's ex-girlfriend. It wasn't really a love triangle, but there was definitely animosity between us guys for a while. But it turned out all right.
