MINNEAPOLIS -- Best Buy's annual shareholders meeting took on a somber tone when what should have been a positive, forward-looking event was overshadowed by news that the wife of founder, chairman and ceo Richard Schulze had died several days earlier.
Sandra Schulze, 60, was diagnosed seven months ago with mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. She succumbed to the disease on June 22 at home with her family.
