Research group issues new home-office report. (The Yankee Group)

The Yankee Group, a market research firm focusing on the data processing and electronics fields, recently released its report "Technology in the Home Office Market". The study was authored for the Yankee Group by Joanne Pratt, who has been researching the entire work-at-home field for many years. This updates a somewhat similar report done last year (see 3/88 TR).

The report begins with a definition and description of two work-at-home segments-"home business" (13.1 million households) and "office work-at-home" (19.6 million households). The latter is defined as people who are employed by a company, but do some office work at home each week. 33.7% of this group spend less than two hours weekly, and only 1.4% spend over 20 hours weekly on office work at home.
