Though a steamy shower feels great on your body, subjecting your face to a hot-water washing is a big no-no, according to NYC dermatologist Diane Berson. It's not, as you may think, that hot [H.sup.2]O is especially drying (water at any temperature will sap skin of some moisture). Hot water can easily aggravate sensitive skin, causing irritation or redness, and exacerbate existing dermis dilemmas like rosacea and acne. Our suggestion: Either wash your face in lukewarm water before jumping in the shower or turn the water tepid when it's time to tend to that gorgeous mug.

I've heard a lot about hair inhibiting creams. What do they do?
The new hair inhibitors don't remove unwanted hair, but they do slow the rate at which body and facial fuzz grows back. They also refine the texture of hair so it grows in softer and thinner. If you use them in conjunction with your preferred removal method (shaving, waxing, etc.), you'll not only be making fewer appointments with your razor or waxer but your hair-removal routine will also be a whole lot easier. To fight facial fuzz, check out Vaniqa, a prescription cream containing eflornithine hydrochloride, which is thought to block the enzyme necessary for hair growth. If you use the cream twice a day, you should notice a difference after eight weeks (about as long as one $47 tube will last you). A similar product for your face and body available without a prescription is Marzena's Body Hair Inhibitor Serum, $14.99. Massage it into the skin immediately after waxing or tweezing and every day for the following six days and you should remain hair-free for about four to six weeks. Jergens Naturally Smooth Sha ve Minimizing Moisturizer, $4.99, slows regrowth while making your legs silky smooth. After eight weeks of daily use, you should need to shave only half as often.
