In a move designed to make banking friendlier for Texans, Frost Bank is introducing a new concept -- complete with a different layout -- into its markets.

"I think the overall thing is, it is such a change from what you anticipate a bank looking like." says Dori Thornhill, spokeswoman for the Austin architectural firm Cottham Hargrave, which came up with the blueprint. "Banks tend to be so conservative and this is not a conservative design."

The idea behind the design, Thornhill says, is to make banking more customer-friendly.
