Lauda Air will increase weekly flights from Vienna to Australia to six times.(Brief Article)

LAUDA Air, which now flies five weekly flights from Vienna to Australia via Kuala Lumpur will increase the frequency to six times from Jan 12 next year due to increasing demand.

Called the "Kangaroo Route" the airline flew the inaugural Vienna-Kuala Lumpur-Sydney-Melbourne route on Oct 26, 1997, while in spring of 1998 it added Denpasar, Bali, to its route.

Manager for Malaysia and Brunei, Wilson Tay, said the airline came online in Kuala Lumpur in October 1997 and went off-line in Singapore simultaneously.

He said the aircraft which flies the Australian route is the Boeing 777- 200, the "Queen of the Lauda Air fleet" and is the world's largest twin- jet wide-bodied aircraft.
