Monday's accidental strafing of a Hokkaido residential area has triggered a review of all Air Self Defense Forces' (ASDF) live-weapons training, the Defense Agency chief announced Tuesday.
Government officials also revealed that drills in Kitahiroshima, where locals expressed shock at the strafing, have stopped while an investigation proceeds.
"We will make every effort to track down the cause of the accident and review how training is carried out," Defense Agency Director-General Gen Nakatani said in Tokyo.
