2001 JUN 14 -- (NewsRx Network) -- Contrary to a long-standing belief in the obstetric community, labor induction alone does not lead to excess cesarean deliveries in women with prolonged pregnancies, according to a study in the June 2001 issue of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Circumstances and risk factors intrinsic to the patient are the causes of increased cesarean deliveries in such women, the study's authors say.
