KAKOGAWA, Hyogo -- A man who killed his wealthy grandparents apparently broke into their home to butcher them, not to rob them as he confessed following his arrest, police said Friday.
Unemployed Noriyuki Matsumoto, 21, was arrested on Thursday for robbery and murder after he admitted to killing his octogenarian grandparents. He told police he did it because they discovered him trying to ransack the Kakogawa home they had once all shared.
However, investigators are not buying the argument and suspect that Matsumoto held a grudge against his grandparents because he murdered them in such a savage manner.
