The National University of Lanus, Argentina, held its first multimedia and acousmatic festival 10-11 August 2000.
During the two days of the festival, four concerts were presented and the CD "Sounds and Visions of the South" was released.
The first concert offered a program entirely of acousmatic works: Arturo by Elainie Lillios (USA), Una Carta by Eduardo Kusnir (Argentina), Entrevales by Sergio Kafegian (Brazil), and Figuras Flamencas by Mario Verandi (Argentina/Italy).
The second concert presented the video film Donde estaba Dios cuando te fuiste? by Marcelo Schapces (Argentina) between two sets of acousmatic pieces. Como un Coro de Clarinetes Celestiales by Orlando Jacinto Garcia (USA) and Lineas y Puntos de Otro Tiempo by Daniel Schachter (Argentina) preceded the video, which was followed by Canciones para las Estrellas by Ricardo Bianchini (Italy), Dias Despues ... by Raul Minsburg (Argentina), and Canto Ancestral: Suenos-Tibet by Enrique Belloc (Argentina).
The third concert followed a similar format, opening with La Rueda de] Tiempo by Eduardo Kacheli (Argentina) and Unsound Objects by Jonty Harrison ...
