NATIONAL RESEARCH COUNCIL NIXES SUPPLEMENTS, SUPPORTS FLUORIDATION

In the most comprehensive scientific analysis to date of potential health risks and benefits stemming from diet, a National Research Council (NRC) committee has concluded that the U.S. public could substantially reduce its risk of heart disease, cancer and many other chronic diseases through specific changes in eating habits. The committee recommended that people reduce fat and cholesterol consumption, increase intake of fruits and vegetables and eat protein in moderation.
