Record 78% interested in politics, poll shows
Yomiuri
A record 78 percent of respondents to a recent nationwide Yomiuri Shimbun survey said they were interested in national politics, with 76 percent predicting a brighter political future.
The survey, conducted on May 26 and 27, polled 3,000 eligible voters selected at random in 250 locations across the country, with 1,987 people, or 66.2 percent, responding.
According to the poll, 78 percent said they were interested in national politics, 12 percentage points up from the previous survey, conducted in April.
