AKQA has hired Leighton Ballett and Lee Goulding, formerly the deputy creative directors at Rainey Kelley Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, to work on the pan-European traditional advertising account for Palm.
The team is the first creative hiring for the new-media agency since it announced its expansion into the US and its global strategic alliance with Accenture. At the time of the deal, AKQA said it would focus more on traditional advertising projects.
Ballett and Goulding left RKCR/Y&R earlier this year after four-and-a-half years at the agency. Since then, they have freelanced at McCann-Erickson on the Nescafe account.
While at RKCR/Y&R, the duo produced the Steve McQueen Bullitt execution for the Ford Puma, as well as the Dennis Hopper Easy Rider commercial for the Cougar. They join AKQA this week.
