OgilvyOne has scooped the 20 million [pounds sterling] centralised direct marketing account for BT's retail business following a final pitch against BHWG Proximity. Ogilvy One will work across BT's customer communications for BT Retail, including services such as Ringback and CallMinder. General release
Victor Kiam, the chairman of Remington famed for a series of ads featuring his catchphrase "I liked the shaver so much I bought the company", has died at the age of 74. The ads, which came over to the UK from the US in the late 70s, made Kiam a household name. General release
Virgin Trains has fallen foul of the Advertising Standards Authority for the fourth time in less than 12 months, and could face an OFT investigation if it does not improve its accuracy of information. A special compliance team is looking at the company's advertising following an ad that claimed Virgin had the "world's biggest rail offer" with "50 per cent off all fares" between 5 February and 4 March. Consumers complained the promotion did not make it clear that it was not available on all routes and did not apply to railcard holders. The account is held by Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R.
