Converse kids' group putting athletics in focus

NORTH READING, Mass. -- Converse Inc.'s dinosaur- and automobile-inspired children's shoes will be stepping aside to share the spotlight with footwear that has a more athletic direction, said new group marketing manager John L.A. Wilson, as he revealed new plans for the children's group.

Wilson, who replaced Jackie Granus, who recently left Converse to become vice president at Kangaroos, St. Louis, has added the children's product group to his area of responsibilities, which also include new ventures and the Evolo line.
