A local union is trying to organize about 40 housekeepers at the Georgetown Inn and Latham Hotel.

The Hotel and Restaurant Employees Union Local 25 recently filed for an election through the National Labor Relations Board. It is scheduled for June 20.

It will be the third election the union has held at the hotels, which are jointly managed by D.C.-based MeriStar Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: MMH). The union previously has tried to organize 20 housekeepers at the Georgetown Inn and 12 bellhops at both hotels.
