With millions of dollars provided by its well-heeled parent, Columbus-based Retail Planning Associates Inc. is taking its first steps toward a future that will bring technology and architectural design to the international retail strategy firm.

Since he bought RPA in December, Rich Langdale, founder of parent NCT Ventures Inc., said he has turned around a stagnating company, added several long-time business associates to its management and empowered them to start hiring retail design leaders.
