MPO's first CD is music to the ears.(Brief Article)

THE Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra added another feather in its cap recently with the international release of its collaborative CD recording of the Sibelius and Kha-chaturian Violin Concertos with soloist Aaron Rosand.

The album, commissioned by US-based label Vox Music Group (www.voxcd.com), is the concert violinist's 20th album.

A Romantic violinist for more than half a century, he has recorded more than 150 compositions, the latest being his collaboration with the MPO under conductor Kees Bakels.

Vox Music Group general manager Todd Landor described the CD as a masterpiece created by a violinist trained in the 19th-century classical Romantic tradition.
