The high-performance Lancer Evo VII is ``still under study.''As Mitsubishi readies to introduce its compact 120-horsepower 2.0-liter Lancer sedan to take on the likes of Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Nissan Sentra, Volkswagen Jetta, Mazda Protege and Ford Focus, the company is not forgetting its rally-bred roots.

Official word from Mitsubishi's U.S. arm is that it is studying the market for its all-wheel-drive, 280-hp turbocharged Evolution VII. There is no word on when the study will be completed.
